Walter W. Jackson II is the Vice President of the Financial Dignity Center Ebenezer in Atlanta where he is responsible for the overall programming of the Center. Walter began his career at the University of Maryland Baltimore County where he worked with the prestigious Meyerhoff Program for Math Science & Engineering and the Students Events Board. He has worked at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and the University of South Carolina with special emphasis on diversity education and community programming. He then served in multiple functions for the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education as the Access & Equity Officer, Coordinator for Teacher Recruitment and the Coordinator of the Higher Education Awareness Program (designed to encourage eighth graders to consider their higher education options). After accepting another appointment he became the lead researcher from the Miles to Go South Carolina Report presented in conjunction with the Southern Education Foundation. Mr. Jackson recently served as the Director of School Programs with Hands On Atlanta. He was responsible for 12 employees and 100 AmeriCorps members fulfilling a 10 month term of national service. His program is the largest literacy based AmeriCorps program in the southeast funded at over $3.2 million. Walter earned his Bachelors and Masters degree from James Madison University.
